Estimate Time and Energy

Big idea​

People often guess wrong about how long something will take or how much energy it needs. That is normal. Estimates get better when you compare your guess to what actually happened.

Why it matters​

Time and energy are different. A task can be short but hard (draining), or long but easy. Knowing the difference helps you plan — and building in a little buffer time keeps a wrong guess from wrecking the whole plan.

Kid-friendly explanation​

A time estimate is like a weather forecast. The first forecast might be wrong, but looking at what actually happened makes the next forecast better. Your guesses improve every time you check them.
